Recent Updates

We have been in stealth mode these days, working on our to-do list. On May 16, we performed scheduled maintenance work on our shared hosting server, which involved adding new software, performance tuning of some services and security hardening. This task has been on our list for quite some time and we are glad we could take it off our list at last!

That went well, but on May 18, we noticed the server load going as high as 23 and we were disappointed with the perfomance due to high loads. It turned out that it was due to the server itself, so that afternoon (Indian time), we had to reboot our server after 63 days of uptime, and finally got our client accounts moved to another server. The datacenter folks did an excellent job without wasting much of our time.

Soon after this move, we tweaked few more settings, and now our load rarely goes beyond 0.5! That is what we call a well-behaved server.
