It has been a while since we posted here. Things are going pretty well reg our hosting service. Yesterday, our FreeBSD server got ready and we are currently doing further fine-tuning and customization. We will start offering FreeBSD Hosting from Jan 1st, 2011 onwards.
Today, around noon, we came to know that Exim (mail server software) on our Linux hosting server needs to be upgraded to take care of some security issue. We did that manually by running /scripts/eximup but it wouldn't restart Exim after that! This is on a cPanel server running on Linux. We posted about this problem in the announcement section of our Client Portal and also on twitter as we couldn't e-mail our clients anyway. From 12:32pm till 1:52pm, this problem persisted. At last, we could fix it and then the mail flow is back to normal. Again, we updated all the clients that the problem has been rectified. Mail service hasn't given us much problems so far, so today might be its turn, just for a change :-) Our main monitoring software has mistakely reported that all services were down (and thats because one of their monitoring IPs has been blocked by our firewall, which we later allowed), while actually only SMTP and secure SMTP services were effected during this unscheduled service downtime. Now that this problem has been fixed, we are back to BSD!
